St. Matthew Christian Academy was founded in 1996 and started its operation as a secondary school. The couple who founded the school, Mr. Denivin D. Ilagan and Mrs. Josefina S. Ilagan thought of putting-up a private school whose primary goals is to minister to the people in the community, provide quality education and restore the seemingly diminishing values of the youth.
As it pursues its ministry, St. Matthew Christian Academy envisions the development and molding of the youths for spiritual maturity, which leads to true academic excellence and character formation.
1. To participate fully in the task of evangelization through Christian formation of the community composed of students, parents, faculty members, service personnel, administrators and alumni.
2. To provide a holistic educational program that promotes the Christian faith by practicing the spiritual values and virtues; pursues academic excellence leading towards intellectual inquiry, reflective judgment and resolute action;
3. To foster continued growth and a sense of community in a learning environment characterized by a spirit of oneness, a climate of trust, openness and mutual respect, sturctures and processes that promote justice, encourage participation and build peace.
